Resources are objects in integrations that require access control.

Add a resource

Resources can be added to Oblique in two ways: by importing an existing resource from an integration, or by creating a new resource tied to an Oblique group.

Import a resource from an integration

Resources are automatically imported when you connect an integration. You can’t add existing resources manually.

To add existing resources, add an integration that imports resources from your organization.

Create a resource tied to an Oblique group

You can create a new resource in an external system that’s linked to an Oblique group. This allows Oblique to automatically sync group membership to the external system.

Supported integrations:

• Okta: Okta groups
• Google: Google groups

To create a resource in an integration, Oblique must have sufficient API permissions to create the resource in the external system, and resource creation must be enabled for the integration.

Caution

You can only create resources for Oblique team groups. Attribute-based groups are not supported.

Enable resource creation for an integration

From the integration’s detail page:

1. Under Destination, for Create Okta group for new teams or Create Google group for new teams, flip the switch.

When team groups are created, the integration will automatically create the corresponding resources in the external system.

Create an Okta or Google group for a new Oblique team group

Caution

You can only create an Okta or Google group for an Oblique team group at team group creation. You can’t add a resource at a later time.

With resource creation enabled, any new Oblique team group will automatically create an Okta or Google group.

Tip

You can create both an Okta group and a Google group for a new Oblique team group.

Edit a resource

You can use Oblique to manage access to a resource. You can edit a resource’s management mode and owners.

Edit a resource’s owners

You can edit a resource’s owners to control who can manage the resource.

From the resource’s detail page,

1. Next to Owners, select Edit.
2. To add an owner, search for and select the users or groups you wish to add as owners. To remove an owner, find the line for the owner you wish to remove, and select Remove.
3. Select Save.

Delete a resource

You can’t delete resources in Oblique directly. Instead, delete the resource from the integration, or remove access to the resource.
