PostHog

When you connect a PostHog organization to Oblique, Oblique will automatically sync the organization’s members.

As you add members to PostHog, change their role, or remove their access, these changes are automatically synced to Oblique.

You can add multiple PostHog organizations to Oblique. These function as separate integrations and are distinguished by their organization name.

Supported options

Oblique integrates with PostHog:

• As a source for accounts
• As a source for resources

From your PostHog organization, Oblique syncs:

• Members of the PostHog organization, as Oblique accounts
• Your PostHog organization, as an Oblique resource
• Each member’s organization membership, as an Oblique entitlement

PostHog accounts are automatically matched to Oblique users based on email.

Caution

Oblique’s PostHog integration is currently read-only. Oblique cannot make changes to your PostHog organization, its members, or their roles.

A PostHog integration has exactly one resource, for the organization you connected.

Supported roles

The Oblique PostHog integration supports information on roles, as defined in PostHog. Every entitlement from PostHog corresponds to exactly one role on a resource.

An organization membership carries one of these roles:

• Owner
• Admin
• Member

Required permissions

The Oblique PostHog integration requests the following scopes for your PostHog organization:

Add PostHog integration

You must be an admin to add an integration.

You connect a PostHog organization to Oblique by signing in to PostHog and approving the access Oblique asks for.

To add a PostHog integration, navigate to the Integrations page:

1. Select Add integration.
2. Select PostHog.
3. Select Connect PostHog.
4. Sign in to PostHog and approve the access Oblique asks for.

Oblique detects which PostHog region you are using automatically, and will immediately start syncing the organization’s members.

Note

A PostHog organization can restrict who sees the full member list, so connect the Oblique PostHog integration using an organization admin or owner account to get the full membership list.

Change PostHog integration’s authorizations

You must be an admin to change an integration's authorizations.

To reconnect the Oblique PostHog integration, including to change the member it is tied to, from the integration’s detail page:

1. Navigate to the Settings tab.
2. Under Connection, select Reconnect.
3. Sign in as a different PostHog member and approve the access Oblique asks for.

You can only reconnect the current organization. To change the organization, instead delete the integration and add another one.

Manage entitlements

The Oblique PostHog integration is currently read-only, so cannot be used to manage your PostHog organization’s members or their roles.

Sync PostHog integration

You don’t need to do anything to sync the PostHog integration. Oblique will automatically and continuously sync changes from PostHog.

Remove PostHog integration

You must be an admin to remove an integration.

To remove a PostHog integration, from the integration’s detail page:

1. Navigate to the Settings tab.
2. At the bottom of the page, under Delete integration, select Delete integration….
3. In the confirmation dialog, type the text to confirm, then select Delete integration.

This will immediately stop all syncing and remove all resources from the integration.

Caution

Removing the integration doesn’t revoke Oblique’s access to PostHog. To revoke it, remove the Oblique authorization from your PostHog organization settings.
