Ownership

Integrations, resources, teams, and groups have owners, who are responsible for managing them. Owners can be individual users, groups, or teams. Each user in a group or team who owns an object is an owner of the object. By default, Oblique admins are owners of all objects in Oblique.

By default, owners are automatically assigned as reviewers for requests affecting the objects they own: if you are the owner of a team, you’ll be asked to review requests for joining that team.

If you’re the owner of an integration, you can change its settings, including Slack notification settings, view its sync history, and edit its owners. By default, the user who adds an integration is its owner.

Only Oblique admins can add an integration, change its connection, or remove it. Owning an integration doesn’t make you an owner of its resources.

If you own a team, you can edit its members, owners, and description, and delete the team if it’s no longer needed.

If you own an attribute-based group or a reporting group, you can change its owners and delete it. Membership for these groups is based off of user attributes or reporting hierarchy and can’t be edited directly in Oblique.

When a request affects something you own, you’re assigned to review the request. You can see the request in your Requests inbox, and approve it, apply it once it’s approved, or close it.

You can request to become an owner of a team, a group, a resource, or an integration. The request is sent to the existing owners for approval.

From an object’s detail page, or for an integration, from the app’s page:

  1. In the Owners section, select Edit. This will open a request.
  2. To add owners, select Add owners to search for and select the users or groups you wish to add.
  3. In the Approvals section, review the checks needed to edit this object’s owners. By default, approval is needed from either an Oblique admin or an existing owner. Select the list of reviewers to assign different reviewers.
  4. Select Create request.

Once checks pass and the request is applied, Oblique will add you as an owner of the object.
